I wish to mix Black and white and also color elements in my Digital Camera Image ......... may any one give me some tips and advice? i have just begun to "fool" with Images and thought this would be coool

This is going to require that you have two separate layers. One that you want in color and the other one which you want in black/white. Now, you may want to fool around with this a bit just to get used to things. I think I'd have to bust out my copy of PSP to know where you can change the color settings. You'll have to look around and see what menu items allow you to do this.
What version of PSP do you have?

k also i was gonna ask you about layers.......just open any image and create what kind of layer? Raster ? Vector? Mask? i know one way to do this is to select some color and greyscale the rest but

I believe PSP 9 automatically creates raster layers, except for text. So it doesn't really matter what layer you create. If you're going to manipulate text, though, remember that you MUST rasterize the layer before you can manipulate it

Look for a menu item that allows you to convert the image to grayscale. Might be under Image, Adjustments or something like that. I'll get a screenshot posted for ya

well.....that made the whole image greyscale is there a per layer greyscale?

Do you have a certain layer selected? That might be what you need to do

Hmmmmm!
Try hiding one of the layers. Might help, might not. I'll have to think of more ideas and re-install my copy of Paint Shop Pro soon
